Superior Control of Major Plant-Parasitic Nematodes
AGSO Nematicide highly effective against a wide spectrum of economically important nematodes. In addition to nematode control, Nematicide exhibits bio-suppressive activity against soil-dwelling insect pests, particularly: Larval and pupal stages of soil insects.
Root-Knot Nematodes : Warm soil temperatures (25–35°C), Sandy to sandy-loam soils, Continuous monocropping, Poor organic matter content.
Cyst nematodes : (Heterodera spp., Globodera spp.) Cyst nematodes are among the most persistent and economically damaging plant-parasitic nematodes, primarily attacking the root systems of field, vegetable, and plantation crops.
Reniform nematodes : (Rotylenchulus reniformis) are semi-endoparasitic plant-parasitic nematodes that attack a wide range of crops in tropical and subtropical regions. They partially embed themselves into plant roots and feed on cortical tissues, causing chronic root damage, poor nutrient uptake, and significant yield losses. Unlike root-knot nematodes, reniform nematodes do not form visible galls, making infestations harder to detect until economic damage occurs.
Lesion nematodes (Pratylenchus spp.) Lesion nematodes (Pratylenchus spp.) are migratory endoparasitic nematodes that invade, move within, and feed on plant root tissues. Their feeding activity causes characteristic necrotic lesions on roots, leading to reduced root function, increased susceptibility to soil-borne pathogens, and severe yield losses.
Burrowing nematodes (Radopholus spp.) are highly destructive migratory endoparasitic nematodes that invade and move within plant root tissues. They tunnel through roots, causing extensive necrosis, rotting, and structural weakening, which severely impairs water and nutrient uptake.
Major Plants and Crops Affected by Nematodes
Vegetable Crops (Highly Susceptible) Tomato, Brinjal (Eggplant), Chilli & Capsicum, Okra, Cucumber, Onion, Bottle gourd, Ridge gourd, Bitter gourd, Pumpkin & Melons, Cabbage & Cauliflower, Carrot, Beans (French bean, cluster bean).
Symptoms: Heavy root galling, Stunted plant growth, Yellowing of leaves, Reduced fruit size and yield.
Field & Commercial Crops Cotton, Sugarcane, Groundnut, Soybean, Sunflower, Sesame, Tobacco, Castor, Groundnut.
Impact: Poor root development, Reduced nutrient absorption, Increased vulnerability to fungal and bacterial diseases.
Fruit Crops Banana, Papaya, Guava, Pomegranate, Grapes, Citrus (orange, lemon, lime), Fig.
Impact: Decline in plant vigor, Reduced flowering and fruit set, Shortened productive life of orchards.
Plantation Crops Coffee, Tea, Cocoa, Coconut, Arecanut, Black pepper, Rubber.
Impact: Poor root anchorage, Nutrient stress symptoms, Reduced long-term productivity.
Spices Crops Turmeric, Ginger, Black pepper, Cardamom, Coriander, Cumin, Fenugreek.
Impact: Reduced rhizome development, Lower essential oil content, Decline in quality and market value.
Pulses & Legumes Chickpea, Pigeon pea, Green gram (Moong), Black gram (Urad), Cowpea, Pea.
Impact: Reduced nodulation, Poor plant vigor, Yield reduction.
Ornamental & Nursery Plants Roses, Chrysanthemum, Gerbera, Carnation, Jasmine, Nursery seedlings of vegetables and fruits.
Impact: Poor transplant survival, Weak root systems, Spread of infestation to main fields.
Impact: Reduced root mass, Lower fodder yield.
Dosage & Method of Application
AGSO Bio Nematicide is designed for preventive and curative nematode management by targeting eggs, juveniles, and adult females of plant-parasitic nematodes. For best results, application should be synchronized with crop growth stages and nematode activity.
Field Preparation (Soil Application): Mix 2Kg of AGSO Bio Nematicide with 200 L of water and Broadcast evenly across the field before final land preparation, Once per crop cycle. Early application gives better control of nematode eggs and juveniles.
Seed Treatment (Preventive Use) : Mix 1Kg of AGSO Bio Nematicide with seeds required for 1 Acre (Approx25-40 Kg). Allow seeds to dry in shade before Sowing, This Provides early protection against soil pests.
Seedling Root Dip / Nursery Treatment : Mix 10 gm of AGSO Bio Nematicide with 1L of water. Dip the seedling for 10-20 minutes before transplanting.
Soil Application (Supplementary Method) : Soil Application: Mix 2Kg of AGSO Bio Nematicide with 100 Kg compost or organic manure, broadcast or apply near the root zone.
Drip Irrigation / Drenching : Mix 2Kg of AGSO Bio Nematicide with 200L of water. Drip irrigation 1 acre of land.
Greenhouse Application: Mix 2Kg of AGSO Bio Nematicide with 100 Kg compost or organic manure, broadcast or apply near the root zone.
Gardeners and small scale farmers : 10 Gm of AGSO Bio Nematicide with 1L of water. Hand sprayer / watering can apply weekly during growing season for prevention.
Application Tips for Maximum Effectiveness
Timing: Apply early in the morning or late afternoon when temperatures are moderate.
Weather Conditions:Â Avoid application during hot, dry conditions or when rain is expected within 4-6 hours.
Early Intervention:Â Begin applications at the first sign of pest presence for preventative control.
Repeat Applications:Â For heavy infestations, make 2-3 consecutive applications at 35 to 40 days intervals.
