Flies don’t just annoy… they multiply fast
AGSO Bio Fly Repellent targets fly larvae & pupae, breaking the life cycle for real control.
House FLY
Houseflies are their role as disease vectors and a nuisance, as they transmit over 100 pathogens from filth like garbage and feces to food and surfaces. They pick up bacteria, viruses, and parasites on their bodies and through regurgitation and defecation, potentially causing food poisoning, dysentery, cholera, typhoid fever, and other serious illnesses.Â
Stable FLY
Both male and female stable flies are avid blood feeders, feeding on any warm-blooded animal. Cattle & Horses are the preferred hosts. Stable flies are attracted to semiochemicals that can be found in crop residues, postharvest wastes, or cattle rumen and manure. Stable fly might be a vector include equine infectious anemia, African horse sickness (AHS), Lumpy skin disease (LSD) and fowlpox.
Horn FLY
Horn flies feed frequently (as many as 20 times/day), sucking blood and other fluids. Feeding causes pain, annoyance, and blood loss in cattle and horses. Irritated animals also lose weight because of their less efficient use of feed. Horn flies act as vectors for pathogens like the filarial nematode Stephanofilaria stilesi and Staphylococcus bacteria, and they create open wounds that allow for secondary infections.
Face FLY
They feed on facial secretions, tear fluid, nasal mucus, and saliva. The irritation around the host's eyes stimulates the flow of tears, which attracts even more flies. They also feed blood from wounds and milk on calves' faces. Face flies transmit several diseases to livestock and horses, mostly Pinkeye, Thelazia eyeworm, and bacteria like Corynebacterium pyogenes and potential pathogens such as Salmonella and E. coli.Â
